This May many of your children will be taking another important step in their life…. they will be taking part in their First Holy Communion! On an interesting side note, my extended family recently started a private page on Facebook where we have been re-connecting with cousins, aunts and uncles from my dad’s side. My father was one of seven children and my grandfather was one of 14! You have to love Irish-Catholic families. Anyhow, the reason I share this story is on this page, people have been sharing old photographs of aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. Guess what the number one shared “old photo” is besides a wedding photo? You guessed it, First Communion portraits from the 40s and 50s. Fashions have changed a bit, but the importance is still the same.
