Hey guys! I am Jeanine McLeod the owner and artist behind Cloud 9 Studios. And yes you also guessed it … the name of our studio is a play off the pronunciation of our last name “McLeod”.
Photography is an amazing way to chronicle your journey through life. As with most businesses, there is a story of how this journey in photography grew to be my business.
After graduating from the University of Florida (GO GATORS!) in 1997 with my Mechanical Engineering Degree I went to work for Motorola in Atlanta. Yes, I am an artist and a nerd! Once you meet me you will quickly realize I was not destined to sit in a cubicle designing cell phone batteries on a computer. My passion is for life, people and relationships. I turned this passion in to opening a photography studio in 2001.
Missing the state of Florida I decided to move back in 2005. This was actually to be closer to the Gator Home Football Games, but shhhhh my family thinks it was to be closer to them!
One turning point in my life was the death of my Uncle Lou. He was like the Godfather of our family and I was very close to him. While preparing for his funeral I quickly realized there were only a handful of photographs with the two of us in them! I was shocked and couldn’t believe this. I soon realized how important it was to capture the time we have on this earth with our loved ones and to make sure this time is immortalized forever in portraiture.
That brings us to the studio. My passion in life is for children and family which translates well in to portraits. I LOVE the connection I get to make with each and every one of my clients. I LOVE getting to play every day with the children that light up the life of their parents. Most of all I LOVE being able to use the gift that God gave me of relating to people to create unforgettable pieces of art that families can enjoy for generations.
I am blessed to have an amazing staff working for and with me. Together we create an unforgettable experience for our clients both during and after their portrait sessions.
Aside from photography my other job is raising my daughter, Eryn. Chasing her around the studio is sometimes exhausting, but always rewarding. All the smiles, giggles, cries, funny looks and attitudes that I capture of her is what I long to capture for all my clients. These are the images that we will look back upon in the years to come and say “oh yes, I remember when she did that!”

For those of you into degrees and certifications … I am a PPA (Professional Photographers of America) award winning photographer and have my Photographic Craftsman degree. I speak to photographers Nationwide about Photography Marketing and Portrait Framing as well as hold seminars and workshops in the studio.
