Then and Now

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children’s Portrait Studio

There a million aspects of owning a studio that I love. One of those million reasons is watching children grow right in front of my lens! The years go by so fast and I feel the speed of which time flies every time I photograph a One Year Birthday Session. This week I had 3 First Birthday Sessions. 3 children who I once held in my arms to try and get to fall asleep for their newborn portraits. 3 children whose parents have allowed me to be apart of their family while enjoying this journey with them. And 3 children who are now on the verge of walking and will be full blown toddlers in a few months.

I am addicted to what I do and I am addicted to these kids! The 80+ hours I spend working is all worth it when I see these smiles on both the children during their session and the parents when they see the final product!

Enjoy a few Then and Nows!

Professional Portraits this Week

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Portrait Studio – Time to update your Professional Image

When is the last time you updated your professional portrait? For many of you I am sure the answer is (ummm I can’t remember the last time I had that done!). If you are a business professional in this day and age of social media, it is imperative that you stay current with your look! Don’t be embarrassed when you meet a client and they say to you “wow, you look nothing like your profile picture”. The worst thing you can do is take your own picture with your camera phone and use that as a representation of who you are. You want your clients to hire a professional, you should hire one too. Let us create a professional image for you that will impress your clients and those who you want to be your clients.

This week only, we are running a Professional Portrait Promotion.

Mother’s Day Mommy and Me Mini Sessions

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children’s Portrait Studio – Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day! This of course is one of my favorite holidays of the year. Not only because I am a mom, but because I love to spend the day with my mother and celebrate the amazing relationship we have! I truly did not realize everything she sacrificed for me, all that she did for me and how much her world revolved around me until I too became a mother. Now I know and now I understand.

We are celebrating Mother’s Day in many ways at Cloud 9 Studios! One way is with our Mommy and Me Mini Sessions.

These Mommy and Me mini sessions feature a NEW product at the studio – The “I Love You” Mini Movie!!

The best part of this session is we will have mom leave the room when we shoot the video. This way we will get genuine responses from the kids and when you receive the finished movie, it will truly be surprise!

Call the studio now at 813-994-4552. Have your credit card ready to reserve your session and start envisioning how amazing your Mini Movie will be to hold on to for a lifetime.

Love Notes and Stories from our Clients

I am embarking on doing a website overhaul ….  Yikes! I know …. crazy to take on a new project … but as you guys know me … I get bored easily and love to change things up. Hopefully I won’t take down the website in the process!!

One of my new projects for the website is a page featuring love notes and stories from clients. Many of my clients (especially the littlest ones) are at the studio 4 or 5 times throughout the year. That means I get to know a lot about the family! Some of the stories that are shared with me are priceless and I am going to start having the families share these stories with you guys who read the website! If you have a story you want to share and have it featured on the new page of my website along with some images of your child/family … send me an email at jeanine@photosoncloud9.com … If you just want to share a “Love Note” (why you loved your portraits) with us … that is fabulous as well!!

In the spirit of launching this page, I thought I would share a series of images from one of our Baby Steps graduates. Lincoln finished our baby plan in the fall and has since joined our Small Wonders kids club! He has been so fun to watch grow and change. He is a very typical little boy … very easy to photograph for his first year … and then …. he learned how to walk. Well actually he learned how to RUN! To be more specific … learned how to run away from me! Now our sessions are an aerobic exercise for me and his parents! I keep promising them he will out grow this soon :) Luckily I am very quick with my shutter release and we still get adorable memories of our little speedster :)

I loved the Baby Plan, especially being a new mom with a post-pregnancy brain that was so wrapped up in everything that I often forgot to take pictures on my own. With the baby plan I got to capture my son’s first year of life. The first year goes by in a flash and I think it’s so important to have those memories preserved so you can look at them for years to come! – Jennifer (Lincoln’s mom)

Here are the milestone images from Lincoln’s first year.

A few months later they came for a family portrait …

And of course … all of our kids (even those that run a lot) sit for a few duck portraits!

I look forward to getting your emails with fun stories and letters I can start to build my new webpage with!

“Getting the body back” – Guest Blogger Daniel

If there is one thing I hear from almost every mom (me included) it is how hard it is to get our bodies back after having our babies. Me? It took 5 years! Lol

Recently due to some serious back issues I have been having I met with and am begining a training routine with Daniel from Impact Fitness. We chatted about how common it is for moms to neglect our health because we are so busy taking care of everyone else. In reality …. If we don’t take care of ourselves, it is our family that suffers. I asked Daniel to “preach” a little for me in today’s guest blog post….. Take it away Daniel ….

It is extremely important for individuals in our society to exercise. The first step is to be mentally ready and not to be overwhelmed. Many mothers have so many activities going on with their children. However, you must find time to exercise. It is important that we start slow during the first couple of workouts and gradually work your way up. It is so also important that mothers understand after having a baby that the weight will not come off immediately. You must have Patience because it took 9 months to gain the weight but it may take 10 months to get it back off.

Strength training is extremely important to help tone up the skin and extra body fat. Research shows that training your neck and head can help eliminate wrinkles to make you look younger. We will make sure we strengthen your abdominal area and your lower back. Many mothers fail to understand how important it is to do strength training. It helps you burn fat and helps increase your energy levels. We also want to make sure we are strengthening small muscle groups to protect the larger muscle groups. After pregnancy abdominal and back areas become very weak. During the off days of strength training, it is important that you do some power walking and core exercises. This can be pushing your child in their stroller or any exercise that will increase your heart rate up and breathing.

Strength training, healthy eating habits and incorporating extra cardio exercises will help you gain energy, confidence and that desired look you have always wanted. I would to offer all moms at Cloud 9 to please come try a free training session with me and I will make sure that you get the results you are looking for. Remember, patience and being mentally ready will help you reach your goals.

Duck Timelines – Part 2

Today we have another two families who have journeyed with us over the past few years with ducks …

First up … Troy! He and Eryn are only 2 weeks apart. Crazy how time flies. I first met his mother in our maternity yoga class! So technically, Eryn and Troy have known each other since before they were born! HAHA

Troy skipped 2010 … that’s ok. We will forgive him since he has been every year since :)

Then we have Lily and her little sister Ruby! They loved the ducks so much that one year they had moved out of town and still flew back in for duck portraits!

2010 Duck Portraits

What you don’t see in the 2011 portrait is that dad was cut out of the picture and this was the ONLY smile we got in 30 minutes. HAHA … Except for my hard drive … there is no evidence that Lily didn’t LOVE the ducks that year. It does make a great story to tell though :)

Tomorrow we will post some more! Isn’t this fun :) I hope you guys are enjoying this trip down memory lane as much as I am enjoying creating the blog posts!

Duck Timelines

Every holiday I love taking out all my pictures of Eryn from the past years to put on display. I have gotten to the point now where I have a series of 5×7 frames on our buffet that have constant rotating images in them. As I was arranging all of her Duck Portraits from the past 5 years it got me to thinking of several clients I knew that have been photographing with the ducks as long as Eryn has! I thought you guys would enjoy seeing some of the kids and how they have grown in relation to the little ducks year after year.

Lets start with Mr. Tajai  … He and Eryn are very close in age … and I have been photographing him since he was born!

I love all our families that choose to come to us year after year. It warms my heart to know that you love having your children photographed as much as I love photographing them! Thank you for the continued addiction to Duck Portraits :)

Tomorrow I will share a few more kids who have enjoyed many years of duck portraits!
