Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children’s Portrait Studio – A 2 Year old Miracle

This past Christmas I had the pleasure of photographing the most adorable 2 year old little girl. Her mom had told me that she had some health issues, but did not go in to many details. In January she came back in for her 2 year portraits. Prior to her session, I received this email …

“You have made me feel more comfortable than anyone I have ever done photos with. I never felt like I needed to apologize when Morgan acted like a normal 20 month old. As you probably remember from the story, the doctor that diagnosed her heart defect recommended we terminate the pregnancy. We didn’t listen and got second opinions. Now we have this amazing little girl! Your pictures are so beautiful and I know we will always enjoy looking back and remembering all these stages. So glad we have decided to come to you now. Thank you so much.” ~ Emily

When I read her email I cried! It is so touching to me when I hear stories of how families overcome the odds and thrive in the most amazing situations. Morgan is adorable, so full of life and so full of love. I can’t even imagine if Emily would have listened to that first doctor! I hope that someday she is able to use her story to inspire mothers who are facing similar decisions. It has been my honor and pleasure to photograph Morgan and provide her family with priceless memories of the life they brought in to this world!

Happy New Year! We are so excited to announce our first Quick Take of 2013 -
Vintage Valentines on February 2nd

During your child’s session we will play dress up in old clothing. For girls we have a few dresses, shawls, and hats. For boys we have an old suit jacket. I have flowers, heart shaped boxes and candy for the kids to pose with and maybe eat a candy or two!

Orion is 4 … Time flies

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children’s Portrait Studio – A 4 year old’s album

Orion first came to visit me when he was a baby 4 years ago! We began our journey together then, and it is has been so much fun ever since! During this time he even introduced me to his older brothers and sisters and welcomed a new baby sister last year too!

This summer Orion turned 4! We planned a fun and special session for him since he loves to play outside and act all silly with his animals. Just like a little monkey.

When  a child is 4 they are really starting to use their imaginations and create their own little worlds to play in. The album we designed for him, celebrates his imagination and I was really excited when I was able to share the design with his mom!

I hope you guys enjoy too!

But before you look through the album … here is a little peek as to what Orion looked like when he first came to visit me 4 years ago!

The Tooth Fairy

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children’s Photography Studio – I lost my first tooth!

We talk a lot in the studio about Celebrating the Life of your Child. This is something I am extremely passionate about. There are so many aspects to celebrating your child … from the obvious milestones like birthdays, to the not so obvious memories like playing in the mud! Every child has something unique about them to celebrate constantly. As a parent one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is the self confidence they need to excel in this world. Celebrating their achievements, milestones and sometimes just the little every day things helps to do this!

A few months ago we had a child come in the studio who didn’t want to smile for me. When I asked her why, she said it was because she looked silly because she didn’t have any front teeth. I was so sad for her that she would be embarrassed about  something every child goes through. I looked at her and told her that she must have been excited when the tooth fairy came to her house. That made her smile as she told me about the $10 bill she got under her pillow. Wow! I told her, when I was little I only got 25 cents!

That conversation made me realize that losing your front teeth is another one of these occasions in our child’s lives that we should celebrate! They should not feel silly or embarrassed by the fact that their smile is a bit different now. They should show it off!!! They should be proud!

Thus, I have designed a brand new Mini Session for the studio. It is called “My First Visit from the Tooth Fairy!” This session is perfect for any child (boy or girl) who loses those front teeth! Bring them in and we will take 15 minutes to make them feel special about themselves and create a beautiful collage featuring the tooth fairy!

Tampa Bay Parenting – August Cover

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children’s Portrait Studio – Photographing the August Cover of Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine

Have you picked up your August copy of Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine yet?

This cover was shot on the campus of Berkley Preparatory School in Tampa. What a beautiful school. They recently added a garden square with a clock tower in the center. We chose one of the walkways with the tower in the background as the location for the session.

The little girl who modeled for the cover was adorable. As you can tell her blue eyes jump off the page!

Of course as with any session there were a few challenges. The first being it was 95 degrees that day and extremely humid. I knew we didn’t have long to get the cover image we needed before the little girl’s face would flush and her bangs would start looking wet from the sweat!

Mud Pies – Limited Edition – July 14th

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children Photography and Portrait Studio – Mud Pie Sessions

The best part of Summer is knowing that our Mud Pie Special is right around the corner! For those of you have enjoyed Mud Pies in the past, or for those of you who are thinking, What are Mud Pies?  …. We are excited to announce that we have started reserving our Mud Pie Sessions for Saturday July 14th.

This is a Limited Edition Set and is done outdoors. Yes, we build a giant mud pit and your children will play in it until they are covered head to toe. Don’t worry, we have a hose to clean them off with (which also makes fun portraits).

New for 2012 is the addition of our Mud Pie Stand. It will be constructed to look like an old fashion wooden lemonade stand.

The Session fee is $35 and they are 20 minutes long.

We have special packages available from our Mud Pie Sessions starting at $95.

Valentine’s Day is coming up next week. In the days leading up to the big day, we thought it would be fun to post each day something different we love about children! To make it easy, I will just keep adding to this post. Check back each day and share your comments!

Wednesday, February 8th – Today we wanted to share that we LOVE adding to our family! I am Italian and I Love family! One of the reasons I love what I do is the relationships that we build with people. Many of my clients end up becoming an extension of my family. We share in each others happiness and sadness and share in the excitement of watching a child grow and change. I can’t express in words how greatfull I am every day for those that walk through my studio door and choose to allow me to become apart of their family. We love all of you!

Tuesday, February 7th – Today we wanted to share that we LOVE a Child’s Happiness! When a baby comes in for their first birthday portraits we always have fun. Most importantly the babies have fun too! To watch them play and attack their balloons and then their cake, it is amazing. The parents always enjoy watching their children enjoy the moment. Yep, nothing beats a genuine smile from a baby or child!

Then and Now – Mackenzie

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children’s Portrait Studio

I am so excited about this week’s installment of Then and Now. Mackenzie’s parents came to us originally via a referral from our very first client in Wesley Chapel. I photographed her maternity portraits while I was pregnant myself! Our daughters are only a month or so apart in age and always giggle when they see each other at the studio. In fact we have had fun photographing them together during the Halloween Quick Takes each year.

So when I photographed Mackenzie’s 4 Year portraits a few weeks ago, I was giddy with anticipation of doing a posting of Then and Now for her :)

Look at her little face at 3 months old. She hasn’t changed that much … only gotten bigger!

Loved her beach session too …

I had to share that first Halloween Picture with Mackenzie and Eryn. Wow … this was a long time ago, yet it seems like yesterday.

Here she is NOW!!

Thank you guys so much for allowing me to capture the most amazing life of Mackenzie. Pretty soon it will be Senior Portraits. LOL
