Tampa’s Premier  Children’s Portrait Studio – Summer at the Movies

This summer The Cobb Theater at the Groves has allowed us to team up with them for several of their Free Kid Movie Wednesdays. First of all, I think it is a wonderful thing for the theater to do for parents with kids out of school. It is freaking HOT here and having a nice cool theater to take your kids to for a movie  …. plus it is FREE, is awesome.

Wednesday was the first movie event we participated in. To make waiting in line a bit more entertaining for the kids we provided a fun Circus Themed Photo Opportunity for them. Of course it was FREE as well! While the kids were in the movie, Jalyn and I were busy printing the images and packaging them up ready to go for the parents and kids! That’s right … the parents/kids were able to take their fun circus picture home with them after the movie!

Here is what we had the kids do for their pictures! They all had quite a bit of fun choosing the “photo booth” sticks to pose with! I think all in all we photographed over a 100 kids. It was a ton of fun!

Mermaid Dreams Continued …

While on this Mermaid journey with my daughter I have discovered some amazing new quotes that I can’t wait to use in collage and art piece designs. One new favorite is:

Dreaming of Mermaids

Tampa Children’s Portraits – Mermaid Dreams

My daughter loves mermaids. I don’t just mean Ariel, I mean everything to do with mermaids … When I asked her what she wanted to do for her 6th birthday party she immediately said she wanted a water party in our backyard with a Mermaid Theme! Of course she did. Haha.

Her party was this past weekend …. And today I brought her to the studio to create a series of Mermaid portraits. I borrowed the costume from a photographer friend of mine in New Hampshire (thanks Gail!) and bought the background. I figured a good beach background won’t go to waste in the future!

I have only had time to edit 2 of them … But couldn’t wait to share. I will post more soon.

On this first one I am still looking for the perfect quote to put in the space on the left. A huge thanks to all my Facebook friends who have given me so many wonderful ideas! Once I choose one, this will be a printed art piece for Eryn’s bedroom.

Sigh. I still can’t believe she is turning six!

Of course I had so much fun creating these portraits I am now thinking of creating a Mermaid Themed Portrait Session …. Hmmm sand in the studio again? Am I crazy? Lol

Then and Now

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children’s Portrait Studio

There a million aspects of owning a studio that I love. One of those million reasons is watching children grow right in front of my lens! The years go by so fast and I feel the speed of which time flies every time I photograph a One Year Birthday Session. This week I had 3 First Birthday Sessions. 3 children who I once held in my arms to try and get to fall asleep for their newborn portraits. 3 children whose parents have allowed me to be apart of their family while enjoying this journey with them. And 3 children who are now on the verge of walking and will be full blown toddlers in a few months.

I am addicted to what I do and I am addicted to these kids! The 80+ hours I spend working is all worth it when I see these smiles on both the children during their session and the parents when they see the final product!

A 2 Year Old Miracle

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children’s Portrait Studio – A 2 Year old Miracle

This past Christmas I had the pleasure of photographing the most adorable 2 year old little girl. Her mom had told me that she had some health issues, but did not go in to many details. In January she came back in for her 2 year portraits. Prior to her session, I received this email …

“You have made me feel more comfortable than anyone I have ever done photos with. I never felt like I needed to apologize when Morgan acted like a normal 20 month old. As you probably remember from the story, the doctor that diagnosed her heart defect recommended we terminate the pregnancy. We didn’t listen and got second opinions. Now we have this amazing little girl! Your pictures are so beautiful and I know we will always enjoy looking back and remembering all these stages. So glad we have decided to come to you now. Thank you so much.” ~ Emily

When I read her email I cried! It is so touching to me when I hear stories of how families overcome the odds and thrive in the most amazing situations. Morgan is adorable, so full of life and so full of love. I can’t even imagine if Emily would have listened to that first doctor! I hope that someday she is able to use her story to inspire mothers who are facing similar decisions. It has been my honor and pleasure to photograph Morgan and provide her family with priceless memories of the life they brought in to this world!

Happy New Year! We are so excited to announce our first Quick Take of 2013 -
Vintage Valentines on February 2nd

During your child’s session we will play dress up in old clothing. For girls we have a few dresses, shawls, and hats. For boys we have an old suit jacket. I have flowers, heart shaped boxes and candy for the kids to pose with and maybe eat a candy or two!

Orion is 4 … Time flies

Wesley Chapel and Tampa’s Premier Children’s Portrait Studio – A 4 year old’s album

Orion first came to visit me when he was a baby 4 years ago! We began our journey together then, and it is has been so much fun ever since! During this time he even introduced me to his older brothers and sisters and welcomed a new baby sister last year too!

This summer Orion turned 4! We planned a fun and special session for him since he loves to play outside and act all silly with his animals. Just like a little monkey.

When  a child is 4 they are really starting to use their imaginations and create their own little worlds to play in. The album we designed for him, celebrates his imagination and I was really excited when I was able to share the design with his mom!

I hope you guys enjoy too!

Father’s Day is June 17th … have you thought about what to get him yet? This year we have two different options for Father’s Day Mini Sessions.

1. Bring dad in with the kids and they can have some fun in front of the camera together …. OR

2. Bring the kids in with stuff to represent dad’s job and surprise him with fun pictures of his kids dressing up like him!!
